Algebra Group in Uganda

In Uganda, the active Algebra group is at Makerere University. It comprises of the following staff :  Dr. Alex Samuel Bamunoba,  Dr. Alex Behakanira Tumwesigye and Dr. David Ssevviiri.  We have the following international collaborators (in alphabetical order of surnames):

Algebra Group on the African Continent

Mathematics in Africa is not yet at a level one would want it to be. There are a number of factors why this is the case. Among them are: lack of enough resources (time,  research funds, scholarships to attract the best students, etc), isolation of the few practicing researchers, huge teaching loads, etc.

Below, I give a list of algebraists in Africa. Just in case you don’t (or you know of one who doesn’t) appear on this list, I would appreciate if you could contact me so I can add you (or him/her). We need to start organizing events together, start collaborating and carry out joint research.
